DIRECTIONS

Switching to a Commercial Bank checking account has never been easier.

STEP 1.   Open Your New Commercial Bank Checking Account.

You can open an account by visiting any of our convenient locations in West Port, Florissant, or Chesterfield.

STEP 2.   Move Your Direct Deposits to Your New Account.

Once your Commercial Bank account is opened you will want to change all of your direct deposits.

You can use the Payroll Direct Deposit Authorization Form (PDF) to notify each company of the change.

You will also need to contact the appropriate agencies to stop any direct deposits of government benefits to your old account and to start such direct deposits to your new accounts.

  • Social Security Administration:1-800-772-1213
  • Department of Veterans Affairs:1-800-827-1000
  • Office of Personnel Administration:1-888-767-6738

STEP 3.   Move Your Automatic Payments/Deposits to Your New Account.

You will want to change any automatic payments or deposits that are being drafted from your old account (i.e. Mortgage payment, utility bill, gym membership). You can use the Automatic Payment/Deposit Switch Form (PDF) to notify each company of the change.

Don’t forgot about those recurring payments set up on Bill Pay. Be sure to login to your old internet banking account and cancel those payments. Then use your new Commercial Bank Bill Pay for all subsequent payments.

STEP 4.   Close Your Old Account.

Finally, stop using your old account and destroy any unused checks, deposit slips, and ATM/Debit Cards. Let all of your checks clear and simply write a check for the remaining balance to close your account. You can also send a written notice to close your old checking account using the Account Closing Form (PDF).
